When a cold front passes through the Grand Canyon, the opportunities for photography can be exciting. I awoke this January morning looking for a view from the rim, but the clouds drifting below obscured much of the canyon. Heading down the South Kaibab Trail, I followed these hikers as the clouds lifted, revealing O'Neill Butte in dramatic fashion. (eliasbutler.com)
