Ice Flower

This "snow flower" was in a sea of a trillion others along the bottom of South Mineral Creek (Colorado). The crystals were so delicate you could blow them away. I can only assume that the temperature, the moisture from the creek and the stillness of the valley created the conditions for these "flowers" to bloom.
