Hiking With Kids
Once you leave the pavement, you enter a different world. One where there's (hopefully) no Internet access, no text messaging, no one "friending" you on Facebook. Jump off the urban merry-go-round and immerse yourself in the wonders of nature by taking a hike with your family. Keep it simple - a sturdy pair of shoes, a small pack for an extra jacket, sandwich and water bottle and sunscreen. The only real cost is the effort - and when you hear the frogs croaking, the birds chirping, the leaves crunching under your feet and your child saying, "Mommy LOOK!," you be glad you took that first step.
