No Pooping

During a visit to Monument Valley, Utah, we stopped at all the spectacular overlooks - the Mittens, Totem Pole, and Artist's Point - much to the enjoyment of our guests who had never seen Monument Valley before. At John Ford Point, where numerous Western movies had been staged in years past, we couldn't help but notice this unusually blunt and comical reminder to visitors to "leave no trace" while traveling the park's dirt road. Navajo tradition calls for us all to "walk in beauty," so if nature calls, don't answer if you're along the road in Monument Valley. Instead, the recently renovated Visitor Center at the entrance to the park provides modern facilities to take care of your business before or after your drive in the breathtaking scenery of Monument Valley.
